Using Clever for Automated Rostering

Using Clever for Automated Rostering

Smart Futures connects with Clever to provide automated roster syncing. Smart Futures covers the cost of using Clever, so there is no additional cost to the school or school district.

Getting started with Clever is relatively simple. Clever provides information on getting started on their website at https://support.clever.com/hc/en-us/sections/207400667-Getting-started-with-Clever.

For Clever, we need:
  1. Share all students, teachers, and classes
  2. We need PA Secure ID for the students shared as in the state_id field
  3. Counselors should be shared as Staff if they do not have classes assigned to them and are shared as Teachers
  4. Each person should only have one type of account (Teacher or Staff, not both)
When sharing data with Smart Futures, we recommend sharing all Students, Teachers, and Sections for the schools licensed with Smart Futures. Additionally, if there are any school or district administration, or other staff roles like Counselors, they should be shared with Smart Futures individually. Additionally, please be sure to share PA Secure ID for each student - this is a required field, and syncing with Smart Futures won't work without these fields.

Once you have shared your data with us, please email support@smartfutures.org and we'll begin importing your data. Typically, when all data is provided, syncing can be completed within an hour during typical business hours.
