Setting up SAML 2.0 Authentication

Setting up SAML 2.0 Authentication

SAML 2.0 authentication allows your school/district to utilize your own Identity Provider (IdP) for authentication with the Smart Futures Portal.

Prerequisites

To set up SAML authentication with the Smart Futures Portal, you will first need to provide your IdP metadata file to support@smartfutures.org. This information will be linked to your school/district.

Google Workspace

To find your metadata file in Google Workspace, begin the setup process by going to Apps > Web and Mobile Apps > Add App > Add custom SAML app. After adding the app name, description, and icon, the second page will have the option to download your metadata file.

Configuration Details

To set up Smart Futures as the SAML Service Provider (SP), use one of the following configuration options.

Option 1: Metadata Import

If your IdP supports importing an XML metadata file to set up the SP, download the metadata for Smart Futures Portal here.

Option 2: Manual Entry
